Females of the Medium type weigh 40-55 pounds. Females of the Miniature type weigh 26-55 pounds. Males of these last two types are a bit larger than females. Life expectancy for this breed is 13-15 years. Dogs of this breed can easily live in an apartment if they get enough exercise.

The popularity of the breed spread immediately after it was introduced to the public. The Labrador's easygoing ways and the Poodle's intelligence crossed together make an excellent new breed. Modern representatives of the breed have either fleece or wooly coats that do not shed at all and are not allergy offensive. They are an overall balanced dog with a slightly longer than square build.
