This breed is a cross between the Standard Poodle and Labrador retriever. This cross breed was started by Wally Cochran in Australia in the 1970s. The first mating between the Standard Poodle and Labrador retriever was successful and produced three low allergy babies. As a result, the breed became very popular among allergy suffers. The breed comes in three main sizes: Standard (largest), Medium (somewhere between the Standard and Miniature size,) and Miniature (smallest) and the difference in any of the three sizes is not very noticeable.
