Dog Breeders

Reputable dog breeders don't sell their puppies, if they see that a puppy won't be happy in the family. If you decided to buy a puppy from a reputable kennel, don't go look at the puppy first. First what you should do is to contact the kennel on the phone or via email because if you see a cute, furry puppy first, then you will not want to do any additional research. Don't choose a pup that looks sad and flabby. Check the teeth, ears, eyes, and coat of the pup thoroughly. A good producer will also ask you some questions and very likely ask for solid proof of your containment facilities. Be sure that a really good producer will provide you with support for the lifetime of the animal, and urge you to keep in contact. A pup should be from eight to nine weeks of age before it is taken from its home kennel. By this time it should be weaned and begin eating regular solid food. At first, the young must be fed 4 times a day; then feeding must be downed to two or once a day. Young puppies should not be excessively groomed. It is sufficient to use a soft brush for a daily brushing to remove surface dust and dirt. It is not recommended to bathe puppies completely until their first birthday in order to conserve their natural skin oils. A dog can then have a complete bath when it is old enough. Reputable dog breeders don't sell their puppies, if they see that a puppy won't be happy in the family.
